Aviva Chansky Guttmann, LMSW, CIRT, ACP‑EFT, is a licensed social worker, Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, and ACEP‑Certified Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Practitioner based in New York’s Hudson Valley. With over 25 years of experience, she specializes in helping individuals and couples gently regulate their nervous systems, reduce emotional overwhelm, and build healthier patterns of connection. Aviva integrates trauma‑informed care, energy psychology, and practical communication skills to create a safe, collaborative environment for growth and healing.
Her practice is fully virtual, offering flexible, secure online sessions for clients across regions, along with select in‑person workshops. Aviva provides individual therapy and coaching, relationship support grounded in Imago principles, and skills‑based groups focused on EFT, stress reduction, and nervous system education. She also teaches community and adult‑education classes and develops customized workshops for organizations, schools, and helping professionals.
Aviva is a featured educator on Zak Clayton’s Community Pay It Forward podcast, where her three‑part EFT series guides listeners through simple, accessible tapping practices to ease stress and support emotional resilience. She is also available for professional trainings, presentations, and more.

My mission is to help people calm and regulate overly activated nervous systems so they can meet themselves and others with greater clarity, choice, and care. I believe that when the body feels safer, we gain access to better problem-solving, deeper connection, and lasting change.
Grounded in clinical training and evidence-informed energy psychology, I support clients in understanding how their nervous system patterns shape emotions, relationships, and daily life. I am guided by the value of open, clear, and kind communication—both internally and interpersonally—and I offer practical, gentle tools so self-regulation and effective communication become more accessible and sustainable.
I envision more people having straightforward, reliable tools to manage stress, communicate clearly, and navigate daily life with a steadier baseline. Through my programs and services, I aim to make practical nervous system education and skills—such as EFT and other regulation practices—easy to learn, apply, and integrate into real-world routines at home and at work.
My goal is that clients and participants become better able to recognize their own activation, respond earlier and more effectively, and bring more open, clear, and kind communication into their relationships and decision-making. Over time, I hope these skills lead to fewer escalations, more constructive conversations, and a greater sense of feeling equipped to handle life’s challenges.
